– JULY 1978
JULY MEETING
CANCELLED:
Our next regularly scheduled meeting would be on Tuesday, July 4th - a
National holiday. Since it has been our policy not to hold meetings on national
holidays, we will not meet on the 4th. Also in attempting to re-schedule the
meeting, we have determined that due to vacation and business commitments,
there is no time during July when we can gather a quorum of Board members.
Therefore, the meeting will not be re-scheduled. If you have any business that
should be attended to, please notify Walt Headley in writing or by phone.
SPECIAL
ASSESSMENT DUE:
The
$350 Special assessment is due July 2,1978. Most residents have already paid.
We do need payments on time as the roofer's bill is in and due.
ROOFS:
We set our deadline to complete roof repairs to beat the “summer
monsoons”. With last night’s rain, we made it by one week. Yes, DUNCAN Roofing
finished their work designated in our special assessment program, just last
Saturday.
GARBAGE
COLLECTIONS NEXT WEEK:
Just a reminder that we will have NORMALLY SCHEDULED garbage
collections next week in spite of the holiday, i.e. Monday July 3 and Thursday,
July 6. The holiday will not affect our collections. For those of you who are
new to our complex, our trash collector requires that trash be put out in stout
plastic bags and that it be at curbside by your unit by 7:30 a.m. on the
collection dates. It is helpful is put out in the a.m. rather than the night
before to avoid wandering animals from getting into it. We have PRIVATE
COLLECTION and are not affected by city schedules.
MAINTENENCE
FLAGS:
Residents have been using the yellow flags we recently distributed to
get the attention of the gardener. This has worked well and has cut our
reaction time greatly.
LANDSCAPING:
The Gardener has begun that stage of the landscaping where in the small
grass patches around the complex will be removed and replaced with crushed
gravel. The grass in these areas has been sprayed to sterilize those areas.
Thus, the grass is turning brown. This cycle will take about a month to
complete.
EUCALYPTUS
TREES:
The tree
removal program for this year is now complete. Any re-growth from the stumps is
being sprayed with a systemic poison, which is conducted to the roots, thus
killing the roots. If you have any re-growth from the stumps in your yard. DO
NOT TRIM AWAY THE RE-GROWTH. Rather, leave a note out for the Gardner and he
will spray them. (use your yellow flag) Also, you will notice what appears to
be dying bushes around the grounds. These are the sprayed euchs in the process
of checking out.
NEW POOL
UMBRELLA:
Two homeowners opted to have the association tree cutting team cut out
trees that were inside their private yards. As was stated in an earlier
bulletin, that service carries a S35.00 charge which goes into a special fund
to purchase and replace pool furniture. Said charges have been used to replace
the pool umbrella at the north end of the pool.
HAPPY 4th OF
JULY:
The Board of Directors would like to wish everyone a happy holiday. We
trust that it will be safe and restful.
ARE YOU GOING
AWAY ON VACATION?????????
If you are going away on vacation, please arrange for a neighbor to
pick up
your mail or
have your mail held at the post office. That is easily arranged. Also, please
let Walt know when you will be gone so we can keep an eye on things for you.
HAVE A GREAT
SUMMER, EVERYBODY •••••
