747 East Bethany Home Road Association

Minutes for Board Meeting of September 4, 1997

Meeting was called to order at 7:15 p.m.

Attendees:                Rosie O'Meara, Lucy Seegan, David Cronin, Marie Martel, Jan Ehn, Mike Smith and Eugenia Pang.

1.          Betty Knode has resigned from the Board.  We wish to thank her for her work and continued commitment to

the affairs of the Association.  Mike Smith has agreed to fill the vacancy of the office of Vice President.

2.               Repair bids were taken again in the smaller groups of repairs which include balcony restorations and facia/drip

edges on certain garages.  Rosie O'Meara will proceed with these new final bids.  It appears that the cost of making these repairs will be approximately $8,000.  The Board approved paying for these costs with our contingency funds (Money Market Account to avoid the necessity of a special assessment.

Lucy Seegan, Treasurer, will be attempting to replenish this account by depositing at least $200 per month.  She will also research better interest rate bank accounts which will still leave the funds accessible.

3.             The cable replacement project repairs by US West and Fierro Company are being monitored by Walt Fedourich and Rosie O'Meara.  Most replacements have been made.  They have agreed to slurry seal the streets where pavement has been disturbed.

4.             Rosie O'Meara sent letters to request Cats Claw and Snail vine removal by certain owners.  She also sent notices of roof tile repairs necessary at certain homes.  Remember, roofs are the homeowner's responsibility.  Please remember that planting or keeping Cats Claw, Snail Vine or any other types of creeping vine that clings to the stucco has been banned by the Board because it is harmful to the surfaces and roofs.

5.             Marie Martel.  Secretary, apologizes for the lateness of these minutes.  There are two reasons ... first, she left on vacation right after the meeting, and second, when she got home, she couldn't get near her computer due to the way her painters moved the furnishings.

The next Board Meeting will be held on Thursday, October 9, 7:00 pm at the pool.  Please come.

HELP WANTED

The weather is now getting more compatible to outdoor work!  Volunteers are still needed to help Ron Seegan make small stucco crack repairs and paint.  This will save the Association many dollars.  We thank Ron for his offer to do this work and encourage anyone who can to help him.  Call Ron at 265-3409.
