747 East Bethany Home Road Association Minutes for Board Meeting of July 10,1997

Attendees: Walt Fedourich, Rosie O'Meara, Marie Martel, Jan Ehn, John Bonar, Mike Smith and David Stanley. We would again like to thank Walt & Judy Fedourich for the wonderful refreshments that they so kindly prepared.

1. John Bonar has agreed to fill the vacancy on the Board. Thank you, John.

2. Rosie O'Meara has appointed a committee to evaluate the repairs contemplated throughout the complex. These will be grouped according to tradesmen required and we will request new bids accordingly. This should allow us to address repairs in a more cost effective manner and also will let us schedule the most important projects first. The committee has made a walk through (Saturday) and will submit their findings to Rosie this week.

3. Driveway lowering at 5821 will now be supervised by John Bonar and hopefully this long-standing problem will soon be resolved. Mike Smith, owner, has requested that he be allowed to slightly widen his driveway (at his expense) at the same time that driveway work is done. The Board gave conditional okay to his request subject to final approval of a diagram of the proposed alterations.

4. The cable replacement project by US West has become a nightmare for them as well as us. Unforeseen problems have popped up, sprinkler pipes have been broken and needed repair and the time required to complete this job was grossly underestimated. We hope you will all try to bear the inconveniences. We are talking to the US West people about re-sealing our streets again after their work is done. It seems almost impossible to get the complex looking really good before something else happens to spoil our efforts.

5. Rosie O'Meara will be preparing letters to request Cats Claw and Snail Vine vine removal by certain owners. These vines have become a problem in the complex because they grow into the roof and even into neighbors' areas. Their attachment to stucco siding also can cause a breaking problem. The Board has decided to ban the planting of such vines and to ask all owners who have them to please permanently remove them.

6. Rosie will soon be preparing letters to those owners who have roof tile problems. Remember, roofs are the owners' responsibility. The Board is working on a plan to offer a roofer's services to make all these minor repairs at one time and each owner's expense.

The next Board Meeting will be held on Thursday, August 7 at 7:00 pm at the pool. Please come.

REMINDER

If you have vines inside your patio area, please begin getting rid of them. If you would like to hire the landscape man (Mike O'Meara) to do the chore for you, call him at 265-8005. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
