Minutes for Board Meeting on October 18, 2000

Attendees:          Rosie O'Meara, Marie Martel, Michael Ricci, Jeff Gabbard, Nancy Monaco, Patty Banser, Agnes Woodworth, Sherry and Seymour Adler, Rosa Lee Simmons and Jan Ehn.

1.       We welcomed two new members, Michael Ricci and Jeff Gabbard, who have just moved into 5833.  We hope to see them at future Board meetings.

2.    Financial reports were presented.  There are four owners with dues delinquent.

3.    Sprinkler system leaks continue to plague us and repairs are being made on a continuing basis.

If you notice a leak, please report it promptly.  And if you have a leak inside your patio walls, please fix it ... water is still one of our most expensive budget items.

4.       A new gas barbeque has been set up in the pool area.  Rosie is preparing operating instructions

for its use.

5.       Our complaint to the Registrar of Contractors regarding the pool cracks has not yet been

acknowledged.

6.       One of our long-time residents, Ayoko Sumida (5822) passed away in September.  The Association sent flowers and received a nice thank you note from her son.

7.       Parking problems were discussed at length.  Rosie has talked to the Police and Fire Departments and has been assured that the police will come and ticket any cars parked in the fire zone.  If it is a repeat offender or if the vehicle is considered a public safety hazard, they may also tow it away.  This can be very expensive for the car owner!

There was also a suggestion presented to explore the possibility of renting a few parking spaces from Crown Florist and installing a pedestrian gate near the light post behind 5814.  The Board would welcome your input on this idea.  Would you use it?  How often?  Please jot down any comments/suggestions and mail with your dues or put it in the mailbox at 5814.

8.          Replacing dead bushes was addressed.  It was also noted that some owners should trim back wildly overgrown bushes, vines and trees inside their patios.  Is this you?

NOTICE

Parking in the fire lanes is a hazard to all who live here.

Fire trucks, ambulances and police vehicles NEED CLEAR ACCESS.

If you see an illegally parked vehicle, call the Phoenix Police Department at

262-6151 and report the problem.

Please clip and keep this number for future use.

The next scheduled Board meeting is WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 7 p.m. at the pool.
