Minutes for Board Meeting on February 20, 2002

 

Attendees: Marie Martel, Michael Ricci, Nancy Monaco, David Cronin, Walt Fedourich, Betty Kizer, Karen Root, Rosie O’Meara, Brian Hanna, Jan Ehn and Paul Phillips.

 

  1. Robert Pierson of Liquid Ceramic attended and gave a presentation on his company’s revolutionary product. It reflects 70% of the sun’s rays and acts as a R-24 insulation. It is a permanent, waterproof coating that bridges cracks, resists peeling and is guaranteed for at least 25 years. The big problem for us is the cost. Mr. Pierson estimated a cost between $2 and $4.25 per sq. ft. (most of which is in the preparation work). This could amount to around $190,000. We don’t have that kind of money, so Betty Kizer and Mr. Pierson will both research financing methods. In the meantime, we will continue to obtain traditional painting quotes.
  2. The broken water line through the center of the complex was discussed once again. More estimates for either repair or replacing the line will be compiled before a decision is made.
  3. The locked Association mail box is in place on the east wall of the garage at 5815.  You may drop your dues checks into that, if you wish, to avoid mailing them.
  4. The dual water meters were again a topic. Michael Ricci will further research the situation and advise the Board whether we will be able to get adequate water pressure if the crossover is disconnected.
  5. Thanks to Patty Banser for repainting the repaired west wall. Thanks also to Walt Fedourich and Jan Ehn for removing the old plantings. Jan Ehn is working on a re-design for the plantings along that wall for future consideration.
  6. Financial reports were presented. We had no delinquent dues last month.
  7. It was reported that there were 2 car break-ins and one license plate stolen last month. Park inside the garage or provide yourself with anti-theft devices and/or lighting to discourage thieves.

The Association has a locked mailbox on the east wall of the garage behind 5815. You may use it to deposit your dues checks if you’d rather not mail them. You may also leave notices, owner updates or suggestions for the Board.

 

The next scheduled Board meeting is Wednesday, March 20 at 7:00 PM in the pool area.
