There were 20 in attendance at our Annual Meeting...a great turnout. Attendees: Marie Martel, Michael Ricci, Nancy Monaco, Patty Banser, Rosa Lee and Jana Simmons, David Cronin, Mike Smith, Walt and Judy Fedourich, Agnes Woodworth, Audrey Smith, Betty Kizer, Loren Lake, Karen Root, Rosie O'Meara, Brian Hanna, Jan Ehn and Seymour Adler.
1. Water bills continue to be high on our list of expenses. Rosie O'Meara contacted the City Water Dept. to ask about our dual meters. They have initiated an investigation and will advise us if there is any way to reduce our costs, particularly the sewer assessments on each meter.
2. The turned-off sprinklers down the center was discussed at length. Mike Smith offered to research the costs of repairs or alternate fixes, which will determine our approach to the problem.
3. Direct deposit was discussed for receiving dues. The bank charges $15 per month for the service plus 15-20 cents per debit. That's about $22/month. It was overwhelmingly voted down. Instead a locked mailbox will be installed on the garage between 5815 and 5818. Brian Hanna to procure and install box. In the meantime, continue to mail your dues to our P.O. Box7359, Phoenix, AZ 85011.
4. Painting the buildings was discussed again. Betty Kizer suggested that we investigate liquid stucco. She will submit information before we decide.
5. The condition of the west wall was discussed. Patty Banser and Karen Root volunteered to paint the repaired areas. Jan Ehn will propose a re-design for the plantings along the wall for future consideration.
6. Financial reports were presented. We finally had a positive income month.
7. Agnes Woodworth reported that if you have a free-standing fireplace, you cannot convert it to gas logs. The City will not issue a permit because of asphyxiation concerns.
8. A new Board of Directors was elected. Their names and phone numbers are losted below. Please keep for future reference.
