747 East Bethany Home Road Association

Minutes for Board Meeting of August 20, 1998

Attendees:            Rosie O'Meara, Marie Martel, Mike Smith, Rosa Lee and Don Simmons, Marcel Pincince, David Cronin, Jan Ehn and Lucy Seegan.  Also present was Mike Bowers of Paddock Pools, who assessed our pool and its equipment.

1.         Mike Bowers reported what we all really knew ... our filtering equipment is shot.  Also the pool itself needs replastering and the decking needs to be replaced.  He presented us with material options and price estimates.  It was decided that we would first attack the filtering system and replumbing at an estimated cost of $740. and $275. respectively.  Next, and later down the road, we will have the pool replastered. (Estimated cost: $4003.) Then as the final repair, still further down the road, replacing of the pool decking.  The new space age material recommended for this is called Perma Deck 2000 and will cost about $7238.  We hope to do these repairs on a pay-as-we-go basis, over a period of time and without a special assessment.

2.         Walt Fedourich reported on the progress for road repairs.  Since all management personnel at US West are doing the work of the union employees, all projects except those of an emergency nature have been put on hold.  This includes our street-sealing job.

2.         Rosie O'Meara reported that the wall repair at 5833 will soon be arranged and we plan to split the cost with the owner.

3.         The owner at 5830 expressed concern about trees in neighboring patios, which are getting into her roof.  Appropriate owners will be notified of the need for trimming.

4.         Our landscape man has been adding and replacing sprinkler heads at the front of the complex to allow for better water coverage.

5.         A new post light was installed in front of 5817 by Mike Smith.  The Board inspected it and approved for Mike to begin replacing all other post lamps as his schedule permits.  We all thank Mike for taking on this job as it is saving the association a lot of money (which we will be needing for the pool).

NOTE

We were all happy to meet our new owner, Marcel Pincince, who lives at 5839.

We encourage all owners and residents to take an active part in the

activities of the Board.  Why not try to attend a meeting soon?

We'd love to see you there.
