747 East Bethany Home Road Association

Minutes for Board Meeting of July 16, 1998

Attendees:            Rosie O'Meara, Marie Martel, Walt Fedourich, Mike Smith, Rosa Lee, Jana and Don Simmons, John Bonar and Lucy Seegan.

1.         Walt Fedourich reported on the progress for road repairs.  Speed bumps have been removed.  Next will be the slurry sealing.  When that happens, we will all be required to leave our vehicles off the property for at least 24 hours.  Notification will be made in advance so you can plan accordingly.  We are hopeful that we can give a week's leeway for you to plan.  Parking can be accomplished at the old Safeway lot by going around the barriers.  Or you may use Palo Verde St. behind the complex.  Or the Crown Florist lot just off Palo Verde.  The people next door on Bethany Home (727 complex) have indicated that they will not be amenable to our use of their lot.

2.         Rosie O'Meara reported that the overgrown palm tree at 5833 has been removed at the owner's expense.  The wall repair will cost an estimated $300.  The Board has suggested that we split that charge with the owner.

3.     Fire lane painting in the roadways has obviously been tabled for the time being.

4.     As a result of our inquiry about electricians and plumbers, we received two recommendations:

Maloney Plumbing (944-5516)                     Hatfield Electric (998-2119)

These were the recommendations of Jane Voris, an established realtor.  Use them at your own discretion.  And if you have others to recommend, let Rosie O'Meara know, (277-7434)

5.         A discussion about the pool was held.  Some claim that it needs to be resurfaced.  And the aerators do not work.  The decking needs repair or replacement, too.  Lucy Seegan offered to get evaluations, suggestions and estimates for repairs.  Our pool serviceman has suggested that we drain the pool and give it an acid bath.  If that is determined a good choice, we will do it after the swimming season.

6.         Mike Smith has volunteered to investigate available replacement lanterns for the post lights and the possibility of converting them to solar.

REMINDER

When you use the umbrellas at the pool, please be sure to let them down

before you leave the pool area.

This is the monsoon season and the winds play havoc with

open umbrellas.

The next Board meeting will be on Thursday, August 13 at 7 p.m. at the pool.
