747 East Bethany Home Road Association

Minutes for Board Meeting of May 14,1998

Attendees:            Rosie O'Meara, Marie Martel, Jan Ehn, John Bonar, Walt Fedourich, Mike Smith, Sherry and Seymour Adler, Rosa Lee and Don Simmons,Betty Kizer, David Cronin, Lucy Seegan and Eugenia Pang.

1. Walt Fedourich reported on the progress of our claim against US West for road and waterline restitution.  So far, he has placed a claim with their insurance company ... results pending.  Jose Lopez, a representative of US West, will be meeting with Walt and any other interested residents on Saturday morning to further discuss our concerns.  Rosie O'Meara reported that the men doing the construction claimed that they should have the conversions done and the holes filled by Tuesday, May 19.

2. The City of Phoenix dispute about water billing has been handled by Mike Smith.  No resolution as yet, but a registered letter is waiting for pick up.  We hope it is the solution to this case.

3. Rosie O'Meara reported that termite inspections by Terininex have been completed.  Joe Griffith of

Terminex attended our meeting and reported that he found evidence of termites in one carport and

one garage.  He distributed literature and estimated that individuals interested in his Sentricon

System would be looking at about a $900 charge.  His number is 966-3011.

4. PARKING in the fire lanes has become an alarming problem.  It is for the safety of every single person and home in the complex that we do not park in the fire lanes.  The fire truck requires a minimum of 16' to maneuver.  And some of our streets barely comply!  Therefore, the Board has been compelled to enforce our fining system.

After the first warning, every offender will be fined $25.  If the same person has another offense, the fine will be $50.  The next one will be $75, etc.,etc.

Remember, each owner/resident is responsible not only for themselves, but for their visitors and repairmen.  So, please be sure you and your visitors DO NOT park in the fire lanes.

5. Fire lane painting in the roadways has obviously been tabled.  In the meantime, Mike Smith has agreed to at least paint the curbing red to indicate No Parking.

6. Eugenia Pang reported that she is having some difficulty with American Family Insurance about her claim after a break-in.  She will continue to press for satisfaction.

REMINDER

Some residents or visitors have been careless when backing out and have hit

building corners and garage doors.

I'm sure you wouldn't want this done to your property.

Please use extreme care when backing up to avoid hitting the

buildings or garage doors.

The next Board meeting will be on Thursday, June 18 at 7 p.m. at the pool.
