747 East Bethany Home Road Association
Minutes for Board Meeting of November
12,1998
Attendees: Rosie O'Meara, Marie Martel, Agnes Woodworth,
David Cronin, Jan Ehn, and Eugenia Pang.
1.
A walking survey was made to assess problem areas and letters were mailed to
owners who have overgrown vines to be removed, trees that need trimming and
other small repairs needing attention.
The letters indicated either (A) Association's responsibility or (0)
Owner's responsibility. Rosie O'Meara
is obtaining prices from a tree company to do the necessary work and owners
will be notified of their share of the cost, depending on work required. This should be less expensive for all
concerned.
2.
Fire lane painting is scheduled to begin this weekend. Curbing will be painted red in the "No
Parking" areas and red stripes will be painted on the roadways according
to Fire Department specifications.
PLEASE OBSERVE THESE NO PARKING AREAS or you will be subject to a fine
and possible towing.
3.
A Treasurer's Report was asked for, but Jan Ehn has not yet had time to sort
out the records and prepare a statement.
It was decided, however, to place a lien on 5820 for delinquent
homeowner dues.
4.
Rosie O'Meara is working on FHA recertification which, because of a
bureaucratic slip-up has lapsed. It
seems that recertification must be renewed every 2 years, and our
correspondence with the FHA stated that the certification would not
expire. She plans to have the
recertification papers submitted very soon.
5.
A proposal from Mike Smith to use barter to pay for the lamp installations,
ceiling repair and fire lane striping was rejected. In the interest of keeping clean bookkeeping records, it was
decided that he must submit a bill and be paid by the Association while
continuing to pay all homeowners' dues.
6.
Purchasing of a power washer was tabled due to lack of enthusiasm and
questionable need.
7.
Repairs to patio trellis at 5838 have been completed. Owners should note that if vines grow out of
control
and rot wood, it is the owner's responsibility to effect repairs.
8.
Christmas luminaries were approved for the Christmas holiday. A Christmas party was discussed. Please reserve Sunday afternoon on December
13th for this festive affair. It'll be
a fun way to meet your neighbors. A
party invitation will be forthcoming.
REMINDER
If you have a new telephone number, a new address, a new tenant or a different
person to contact in case of emergency,
please submit those changes to
the Board for our updated Directory.
The next Board meeting will
be on Thursday, December 17 at 7 p.m.
