747 East Bethany Home Road Association
Minutes for Annual Meeting on January 24, 1999
Attendees: Rosie O'Meara, Jan Ehn, Marie Martel,
Walt Fedourich, Mike Smith, Agnes Woodworth, David Cronin, Audrey
Lake, Henry Dunn, Megan Shorb, Betty Kizer, Rosa Lee & Jana Simmons, and
John Bonar.
It was a nice turnout. We are always striving for more participation by the owners.
1. Tree trimming/removal and vine removal has been
completed. The owner-responsible costs
have been paid except for one. Rosa Lee
Simmons reported that a tree near her property was not trimmed as
discussed. John Bonar requested that
the large Ficus tree in front of his house be thinned to control its growth
before it begins heaving up the sidewalks.
2. Fire lane painting is proceeding. Mike Smith will be adding the lines across
driveways soon. He will give a 1 -day
notice to affected owners and requests that they not drive over the red paint
for about 3 hours after it is applied.
PLEASE OBSERVE THESE FIRE LANES.
3. Our old lanterns will be taken to Brunk's Auction
by David Cronin. Whatever we can
realize from their sale will be found money for our treasury.
4. Mike Smith's leaking ceiling has not yet been
opened for inspection. The Board will
examine the exposed area to determine if it involves load bearing beams. If it proves to be a structural problem, the
Association will pay for structural repair according to the CC&RS. Mike will be responsible for inside repairs.
5. The Treasurer submitted
the financial report and budget for 1999.
6. Nominations were opened
for Board members for the coming year.
Eight owners agreed to serve
on the Board. They are: Rosie O'Meara, Jan Ehn, Marie
Martel, Megan Shorb, Mike Smith, John Bonar, Rosa Lee Simmons and Walt
Fedourich.
After the general meeting,
the Board held a short session to elect officers. The officers are:
Rosie O'Meara, President
(277-7434)
Mike Smith, Vice President
(234-1804)
Jan Ehn and Walt Fedourich,
Treasurer & Co-Treasurer (263-9774, Jan) (266-5581, Walt)
Marie Martel, Secretary
(266-7997)
Members at Large: Megan
Shorb, John Bonar (264-1070), Rosa Lee Simmons (263-1984)
Jan Ehn agreed to serve as
Treasurer if Walt Fedourich would help with the bookkeeping because her job is
so demanding. It was agreed to try this
arrangement for 6 months to see if it works out well.
YOUR INPUT IS IMPORTANT AND WELCOMED
If you have concerns, suggestions or items that need attention,
please notify one of the Board members (or come to the Board meeting).
The next Board meeting will be on Thursday, February 18, 7 p.m. at the
pool.
