Minutes for Board Meeting on March 27, 1999

Attendees: Rosie O'Meara, Marie Martel, Walt Fedourich, Mike Smith, David Cronin, Rosa Lee, Jana & Don

Simmons and John Bonar.

There was a closed Board Meeting on March 18th with a representative from Paddock Pools to discuss options for pool resurfacing, tile selection and decking colors.  The Board had bids from three pool companies.

1. Fire lane painting is running behind schedule.  But please continue to observe the No Parking in

fire lanes signs.

2. The Board approved payment for Mike Smith's fractured ceiling beam and related repair expenses.  An amendment to the CC&RS, to revert responsibility for structural repairs to units was discussed.  There are ramifications in both directions to this proposal.  Rosie O'Meara and Mike Smith plan to attend a seminar in April with legal representatives of homeowners' associations.  They will bring up this question and try to obtain information on the practicality and implications of proceeding with this idea.

3. The Board examined bid comparisons for pool renovations and chose Shasta Pools.  The pool surface and waterline tiles will be replaced first at a cost of $7839.36. The material used will be Pebble Tec, as recommended by the pool service technician.  It has a 10 year warranty.  This work will begin within the next week and will be completed within 3 weeks.  The deck and edging project will take place near the end of the year when we have had time to accumulate necessary funds.  The cost of that portion will be $6894.70. The pool area will be closed for these renovations.

4. It was decided to discontinue the pool furniture cleaning by Anderson Pool Co. Results were not conclusive.  So, when you go to the pool, be prepared to clean off the chairs you will use.

5. Our landscaper has submitted a 30-day intention of discontinuing his services.  Bids will be taken for landscaping service.  If you know any proficient, reliable landscapers who would be interested to bid, please notify Rosie O'Meara (277-7434) or Mike Smith (234-1804).

6. The large Ficus tree in front of 5812 has invaded the sewer line and has been slated for removal.  The cost is estimated at $200 for this work.

7. Jan Ehn has found it necessary to resign from the Board and as our treasurer. We need to thank Jan for untangling our bookkeeping records and setting up a new program with Walt Fedourich.  It was a horrendous job to undertake.  Stefani Wallen (234-1804) has agreed to serve as Treasurer until the next election.
