Board Minutes-May 17, 1994

The board meeting began shortly before 7:00 with the full complement of board members, Walt Fedourich, Sherry Mara, Paul Phillips, Terrie Roberg and Kathi Kjolhede. Terrie began by presenting the Treasurer's report.

Old Business: *The landscaping committee has recommended not replacing the removed tree on the North end of the complex and the board concurred. Along those same lines, an additional $75.00 was approved to be spent for the completion of two more flower beds in the front. Also approved was purchase of additional rock. Walt will coordinate the delivery and the timely distribution with the landscaping committee. Paul and Walt have gotten bids for the trimming of our palm trees. The board approved the bid from our current landscaping company for $20.00 per tree. Note: If you would like the palm tree in your own yard area trimmed at this very reasonable rate-contact Walt (266-5581). Work will begin the first part of June.

*Paul reported that a company he deals with does not have information for a Financial Reserve Study. Paul will contact other sources and work with Walt to make headway on this issue. Also, Paul reported that the pool sand filter is fine and not in need of repair.

*The board approved going ahead and painting the garage doors that where initially painted with latex paint to be done with enamel. Walt will handle the arrangements.

New Business: *The final tabulation of our recent ballot showed that there was not a majority on two of the questions concerning the color of the lamps and mailboxes. Consequently, it is necessary to bring these issues again to ballot (see attached). Please complete and return with your June dues or sooner so we can put this to bed.

*The woman who has been servicing our pool for some time is no longer with the company and the service has not been up to par since she left. Since this woman has started her own pool cleaning company and has offered her services for less than what we are currently paying, the board authorized Walt to handle the details of the change.

*Security is always an issue that we are all concerned with. Because of a recent incident that occurred in our complex, the board is pursuing a possible Block Watch presentation for the entire complex and the cost and feasibility of planting Oleanders outside the West exterior wall.

*Discussion regarding the replacement of the interior wooden fences with either block or wood with no resolution. Because this is a major costly project, it was decided to get the input of the Association as a whole. It was decided that it is time for a general meeting to discuss this and other pertinent issues. Sunday-June 12 at 7:00 by the pool will be a General Meeting to discuss the State of the Association-Present and Future. We will do our best to also have the Block Watch people there to make a presentation. Please make plans to attend.
