747 East Bethany Home Road Association Board Minutes-May 16, 1995

The complete Board membership was present with the exception of Betty Kiser. Betty is getting married, moving out of the area and relinquishing her seat on the Board. We wish her nothing but the best and thank her for her contribution to the Board during her brief term. Because of the ample number of existing members, the Board decided to not fill Betty's position. The previous month's minutes were then read and approved and the Treasurer's report was given.

Old Business:

*Terry reported that the water bills are again in line with the previous years. Thus we have to consider that the pool leak was indeed the culprit and that problem solved. Hallelujah! *Another bid was received for the replacement of the rod iron fence on the Southeast end of the complex. This company proposed to replace the bad components only (all posts and portions of the rails attached to the posts that are rusting through. The new sections would be welded to the existing sections requiring only painting. Structurally it would have the same integrity of a new fence but the cost of this method is $800.00 ($300.00 less than the total replacement bid). The company is very busy and would not be able to get at the work for at least a month. The Board voted to go ahead with the project knowing it will be done sometime in the near future.

*John Bonar and Paul are moving forward on solving the drainage problems that several unit's garages are having during heavy rain. Following that completion, John will contact APS concerning the resurfacing of the roadway.

*The Board approved the removal of the chain link fence, clean-up and repainting of the existing Southwest wall. Work should begin soon and make it much more difficult for naughty people the enter complex. The bush that was to be planted along the center portion of that wall will be delayed until fall when growing conditions are better.

New Business: *Palm tree trimming time again. This year again the trimmer is offering to do your individual trees for $22.00 each (a bargain). If you have some palms you want trimmed, please contact Walt as soon as possible and he will make the arrangements. *Robin has volunteered to research the reserve study and will report back to the Board. Also, if you have an interest in information concerning the cost of water softeners and/or reverse osmosis systems contact Robin. With a multiple purchase in one area a substantial savings is a possibility. The secretary apologizes for the delay in getting the minutes out. I have good excuses-trust me! The next meeting is scheduled 7:00-June 20. Have a great month!
