747 East Bethany Home Road Association

Board Minutes-September 20, 1994

The meeting began with all board members (including the Alaskan adventurer, Sherry Mara) being present. The previous month's minutes and treasurer's report were presented and approved.

Old Business:

*After somewhat of a slow start, the East wall has been completed. We no longer need be concerned with it blowing down by a strong wind or a gentle push. Paul received notification from the adjacent complex stating they will not participate in the expense. A copy of the letter will be kept on file in case of future liabilities.

*The board has received an important two year approval from the FHA. This will allow units to be sold within the complex using FHA financing. Walt has the certificate number should you need it. New Business:

*Terrie previously had prepared the Association's 1995 budget and distributed to board members for their review. The board approved it as written. FYI-There are no major expenditures planned for the next year.

*Now that the East wall has been completed, plans for the roadway sealing and striping will move forward. The fire department will be contacted to obtain the actual fire lane regulations as they pertain to our on going parking problem.

*The board approved unit #5825's color change request for their existing awning. The change will bring them into compliance with the CCR's and is the correct way to handle these issues. Thank you.

*The landscaping committee, along with the self-acclaimed garden guru (Sherry Mara) will look into the cost of replacing the now dead bushes in the front of the complex and report to the board next month.

**Hardy congratulations to Chris and Tricia Chen on the birth of their son "Hogan" last month. If you see the lights on in unit #5830 in the wee hours of the morning, you'll know why!

Bits of Info: Are you tired of outrageously high utility bills? Speaking from experience, you may want to look into alternative plans that APS offers. In our situation, the usage charge for non-peak hours (after 9:00 at night and on weekends) is about 1/3 of the cost for peak hours. A little change in scheduling can save you some dollars. Call APS for details.

The next meeting is scheduled at 7:00 on October 18th. Fall is finally here! Enjoy the outdoors!
